3月14日，馬斯克官宣TeraFab晶圓廠項目7天后啟動，目標(biāo)解決特斯拉AI與自動駕駛芯片供應(yīng)瓶頸，計劃年產(chǎn)1000億-2000億顆芯片，規(guī)模超臺積電Gigafab，整合制造、存儲與封裝，擬不采用傳統(tǒng)潔凈室。
特斯拉當(dāng)前靠臺積電、三星代工自研AI5芯片，仍預(yù)判供應(yīng)不足，擬轉(zhuǎn)向IDM模式；潛在合作方包括英特爾、臺積電等。
黃仁勛則潑冷水，提醒：先進芯片制造技術(shù)壁壘極高、投入巨大、良率難控，并非單純砸錢就能復(fù)制，難度被普遍低估。
