經(jīng)過一年的全球遴選過程，

啟明星董事會確認，

Susan Shaw博士將出任北皋校區(qū)小學部的執(zhí)行校長。

她將成為啟明星創(chuàng)校24年的第五任小學執(zhí)行校長。

Susan Shaw博士將于2026年8月加入我們的社區(qū)。

2026 年暑期，北皋校區(qū)現(xiàn)任小學部執(zhí)行校長Susan Jarnot-Benthem也將完成她在啟明星服務的第六個年頭并結(jié)束任期，她的孩子也將從啟明星畢業(yè)。

過去6年，Benthem校長始終陪伴學生成長，和團隊并肩前行，為校園的穩(wěn)定運行與持續(xù)發(fā)展傾注了大量心力。我們深深感謝她為社區(qū)付出的努力和貢獻，并祝福她和她的家人在沙特阿拉伯一切順利。

Shaw 博士將與丈夫 Tiri 一同遷居北京。

2015年開始擔任副校長。

After a year of global search, Daystar Academy's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment ofDr. Susan Shaw as the next Executive Elementary Principal of Daystar Academy Beigao Campus,making her the fifth executive elementary principal since Daystar’s founding 24 years ago.

Dr. Shaw will begin her posting in August 2026.

In the summer of 2026, Susan Jarnot-Benthem, the current Executive Elementary Principal of the Beigao Campus, will complete her sixth and final year of service at Daystar Academy. Her son will also graduate from Daystar this year.

Over the past six years, Principal Benthem has dedicated tremendous care and energy in building Daystar into one of the leading elementary schools in China. We are deeply grateful for her commitment and contributions to our community. We wish her and her family the very best in her new role in Saudi Arabia.

Meet Dr. Susan Shaw

A Veteran Educational Leader with Over 30 Years of International Experience

Dr. Shaw bringsover 30 yearsof international education experience to Daystar Academy. Originally from New Zealand, she holds:

• ADoctoratefrom theUniversity of Southern California

• AMaster’s degree in Educational LeadershipandPrincipal CertificationfromThe College of New Jersey
  

• ABachelor of EducationfromCanterbury University

Dr. Shaw will relocate to Beijing with her husband, Tiri, whom she met and married in Singapore, while their three adult children continue their university studies.

World-Class Experience Leading a Large-Scale Elementary School

Dr. Shaw currently serves asDeputy Principal of the Elementary School at Singapore American School (SAS). In this role, she has been instrumental in leading a major division withinone of the top elementary schools in the world.

Her educational journey began as a classroom teacher inNew Zealand, followed by teaching roles inEngland, Turkey, the United States, and Venezuela.

She joined Singapore American School in 2000 as aGrade 3 teacher,later working withgifted learners, and transitioned into her current role asDeputy Principal in 2015.

Leadership in Innovation and School Transformation

Dr. Shaw’s professional experience includes:

• Designing innovativeK–5 STEAMcurriculaaligned with international standards

• Implementinginquiry-based learning and social-emotional learning (SEL)frameworks

• Leadinglarge-scale school transformations, including the design and transition of a purpose-built campus

She has consistently demonstrated the ability to lead complex change while maintaining a strong focus on teaching and learning.
