Turnstile前吉他手Brady Ebert的辯護詞，讓這樁謀殺未遂案變得更魔幻了。4月初他被曝開車撞飛主唱Brendan Yates的父親William，如今對法院 commissioner 聲稱這是"pure self-defense"，還說"was straight-up attacked"。
按Brendan的說法，Ebert先開車到他家門口按喇叭罵臟話，離開后又折返故意撞人。更狠的是，Ebert第三次返回現場，對躺在地上的William說了句「deserved it」——這不像自衛，像補刀。
Turnstile的回應很干脆：確認William遭受"severe physical trauma"，已完成手術，最后丟下一句"We have no language left for Brady"。樂隊2022年和他分道揚鑣，今年3月他新組的The S.E.T也把他踢了出去，起因是他指控Turnstile挪用慈善演出資金，還罵樂隊發"abolish ICE"是"pandering to their audience"。
Ebert聲稱有監控能推翻警方說法，但Turnstile和他本人都拒絕對《The Baltimore Banner》置評。William還在康復中，而Ebert的另一位前隊友、樂隊Experience選擇照常發行有他參與的EP，只表態案件"serious and deeply upsetting"。
Turnstile本周末將登上Coachella舞臺，這是William被撞后樂隊首次大型演出。觀眾會不會在臺下喊"deserved it"，成了個尷尬的懸念。
