11月6日-9日，“以社會為現(xiàn)場——2025社會創(chuàng)新設(shè)計(jì)國際會議暨米蘭三年展中國展區(qū)閉幕會議”在福建省寧德市屏南縣舉辦。會議由中國美術(shù)學(xué)院視覺傳播學(xué)院、中國國際貿(mào)促會建設(shè)行業(yè)分會中意創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)委員會、中國美術(shù)學(xué)院美麗中國研究院、屏南鄉(xiāng)村振興研究院 、中國美術(shù)學(xué)院鄉(xiāng)土學(xué)院 · 寧德主辦。

以社會為現(xiàn)場，以鄉(xiāng)土為起點(diǎn)

2025年，技術(shù)革命重構(gòu)了社會連接的維度，生態(tài)危機(jī)呼喚系統(tǒng)性解決方案，全球化進(jìn)程中的單邊主義與矛盾，正在倒逼人類重新定義發(fā)展的意義；設(shè)計(jì)早已不再局限于“造形”或“造物”，逐漸轉(zhuǎn)向“驅(qū)動關(guān)系再造”。中國走出了一條具有自身特色的社會設(shè)計(jì)路徑，即設(shè)計(jì)驅(qū)動的市場和社會創(chuàng)新，可以借力國家平臺，將“在地化”放大為“系統(tǒng)性”，從而在“小切口、大牽引”的杠桿效應(yīng)下，面向更廣泛的社會建構(gòu)。

“以社會為現(xiàn)場”國際會議的發(fā)起，一方面是基于這一認(rèn)知，另一方面則是探討將社會意識納入設(shè)計(jì)教育的路徑。如果說設(shè)計(jì)的意義根植于其對真實(shí)世界挑戰(zhàn)的響應(yīng)深度，設(shè)計(jì)教育的意義則依賴于其主動打破壁壘、構(gòu)建知識流動的生態(tài)系統(tǒng)。面向社會創(chuàng)新的設(shè)計(jì)教育并不單純地以解決問題為目標(biāo)，而是在行動中鑄煉問題意識和社會共識，以設(shè)計(jì)為手段喚起每一個生態(tài)位的參與度和創(chuàng)造力。設(shè)計(jì)的社會化是一場溶解學(xué)科邊界的范式革命，系統(tǒng)性的整全思維在基于社會真實(shí)需求的設(shè)計(jì)教育中得以萌發(fā)，其能效在面向制度創(chuàng)新的社會行動中得以放大。

本次會議是中國美術(shù)學(xué)院自2023年啟動Inter-World-View（IWV文明的互鑒）計(jì)劃的延續(xù)，旨在將參與IWV的對話者鏈接為一個跨國界、跨學(xué)科的對話平臺，共同探索社會意識介入設(shè)計(jì)、技術(shù)、敘事和傳播的路徑與方案。同時，這也是視覺傳播學(xué)院啟動申報(bào)社會創(chuàng)新設(shè)計(jì)專業(yè)的開始，旨在將面向社會創(chuàng)新的問題意識前置到本科專業(yè)教學(xué)，以應(yīng)對人工智能對設(shè)計(jì)行業(yè)的沖擊。設(shè)計(jì)的宏愿是為文明造形，其終極現(xiàn)場永遠(yuǎn)是人類社會的復(fù)雜性與可能性，而社會創(chuàng)新設(shè)計(jì)則是一種面向可持續(xù)文明的社會實(shí)驗(yàn)。本會議期待通過社會、技術(shù)、敘事、生態(tài)等維度，在城市更新、教育公平、氣候變化等全球議題中，探討社會理想轉(zhuǎn)化為可落地的設(shè)計(jì)實(shí)踐的方法與路徑。

By 2025, the technological revolution has reconfigured the dimensions of social connectivity; the ecological crisis calls for systemic solutions; the Unilateralism and contradictions in the process of globalization are forcing humanity to redefine the meaning of development. Design has long transcended the boundaries of “form-making” or “object-creating”, gradually shifting toward the driving-force of “relationship-reinventing”. Meanwhile, China has pioneered a distinctive path of social design — one that harnesses design to propel market and social innovation. By leveraging national platforms, it amplifies “l(fā)ocalized” efforts into “systematic” solutions, creating a lever effect of “small entry points with far-reaching impact” to foster broader social construction.

The launching of the international conference of Society as a Site stems, on the one hand, from this recognition and, on the other, from the exploration of ways to integrate social consciousness into design education. If the significance of design is rooted in the depth of its response to the challenges of the real world, the significance of design education relies on its initiative to break down barriers and build an ecosystem for knowledge flow. Design education oriented toward social innovation does not merely aim at solving problems, but rather casts problem awareness and social consensus in action — using design as a means to evoke engagement and creativity in every ecological niche. The socialization of design is a paradigm revolution that dissolves disciplinary boundaries, fostering systemic and holistic thinking within design education grounded in real societal needs, and its effectiveness can be magnified in social actions oriented to institutional innovation.

This conference is a continuation of the Inter-World-View (IWV): Mutual Learning of Civilizations program launched by the China Academy of Art in 2023, aiming at linking the interlocutors participating in IWV into a cross-border and cross-disciplinary dialogue platform, and exploring the pathways and solutions for socially conscious interventions in design, technology, narrative, and communication. It also marks the inauguration of the School of Communication Design’s application to establish a new program — Design for Social Innovation — intended to embed problem awareness for social innovation at the undergraduate level, responding to the impact of AI on the design industry. The grand aspiration of design is to shape civilization, and its ultimate stage is always the complexity and possibility of human society. Design for Social Innovation, in this sense, serves as a social experimentation toward sustainable civilization. This conference looks forward to exploring the methods and pathways of transforming social ideals into tangible design practices through the dimensions of society, technology, narrative and ecology in global issues such as urban renewal, education equity and climate change.
