The Social Innovation Program is a special project of Daystar. To participate in this project, our students need to observe and think about their surroundings from the perspective of sustainable development and focus on contributing to the creation of a healthy environment.
The “Healthy Campus” workshop was a critical means to apply the concept of sustainable development to school running and inspire students to think about and participate in building a healthy campus environment.
Next theDaystar campus in Sanlitun will also initiate the application process for WELL certification, driving the entire community to further focus on the sustainable development of a healthy campus. WELL is the world’s first building standard focused on enhancing health and well-being within the built environment, and very few schools in China have been certified.

Eileen responded , “You are also part of a healthy campus. Your attitude and spirit are very important in building a healthy environment!”
From the workshop, students realized that a healthy, sustainable campus isn’t just about clean air, water, food, and building materials. It’s also about evenly distributed lighting, appropriate color temperatures, noise control, and whether everyone on campus has a positive, healthy attitude.
At the lecture, Eileen and operation staff shared what Daystar Sanlitun Campus has already done for the well-being of students and staff:
Besides a fresh air system and direct drinking water dispensers in every room, the school carefully chose the artificial turf for the soccer field. We compared over 30 different eco-friendly samples with various needle counts, weights, and functions. Teachers and students were invited for blind tests to find the best fit for different age groups and uses. As for upgrading multimedia equipment and lighting for classrooms, we installed samples, collected extensive feedback, and eventually made the final choice. All these efforts reflect Daystar’s student-centered approach to creating a comfortable campus environment. This concept of sustainable development is crucial to improve students’ learning efficiency and foster a healthy lifestyle.

We look forward to the Sanlitun campus becoming an even healthier and more sustainable campus in the next academic year!
